Captain Zenaba Issa Oki Soumaïne from N’Djamena (Chad). She graduated from high school in 2004, and joined Ethiopian pilot training school a year later . She completed her training as a pilot in 2008. She returned back to Chad, where she was selected to fly the MD87, the presidential fleet of Chad. She was reverted to the Air Force as all presidential aircrafts were managed by the Airforce. From 2009 to 2012 she had the opportunity to fly for Meridiana Airlines and Air Burkina where she was able to build her hours. Even though she flew for the airlines she was still flying on the presidential plane. She progressed onto the B737NG as a First Officer and flew with Ethiopian Airlines for a while. She gained her ATPL in Miami and was Captain on the Hawker 900XP. In 2015 she was promoted to Captain on the B737 BBJ. A grand celebratory ceremony was held in her honour by the First Lady of Chad and the Aviation Minister, together with high ranking officials, staff from Ethiopian flight academy and other female pilots who attended the ceremony. Zenaba has been progressing in rank and today holds title as Colonel Zenaba Issa Oki Soumaïne of the Chadian Army and continues to fly the President of Chad.
