The African Section 99s has actively participated in the Aviation Africa Conferences since 2020, beginning in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. These conferences provide a vital platform for dialogue on aviation development, safety, and innovation across the continent.
The African Section has been proudly represented by African Section 99s members, who have served as panellists and speakers, sharing insights on women in aviation, leadership, and capacity building in Africa.
In 2024 and 2025, the African Section 99s expanded its involvement by collaborating with Aviation Africa, African governments, and Civil Aviation Authorities to support STEM initiatives aimed at inspiring youth particularly girls to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace. These engagements reflect the Section’s ongoing commitment to education, mentorship, and the advancement of women in aviation across Africa.
They continue to partner with Aviation Africa in future events, working closely with governments and Civil Aviation Authorities across the continent to promote sustainable aviation growth. Through these partnerships, the African Section 99s supports policy dialogue, mentorship, and STEM outreach programmes, with a strong focus on gender inclusion, youth development, and skills transfer. These collaborations aim to strengthen Africa’s aviation pipeline, inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, and ensure women play a leading role in shaping the future of aviation in Africa.
