Airbus Foundation, together with its partners The Little Engineer and African Section 99s, is promoting youth development through the Airbus Little Engineer Aviation Robotics Workshop. The Airbus Little Engineer A380 Assembly Workshop is a hands-on robotics program designed for learners aged 12 and above in Malawi, with the goal of inspiring young minds to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). During the workshop, students will be introduced to the exciting world of robotics and aviation, gaining insight into how the A380 aircraft is developed, from its manufacturing in different countries to its final assembly in Toulouse or Hamburg.

It is a proud and historic moment for Malawi as the Airbus Foundation visits the country for the very first time. Although Malawi has a small aviation industry and no Airbus aircraft in operation, Airbus chose to bring this inspiring workshop here to recognise the potential of Malawian youth and to open doors to new opportunities in science, technology and aviation.

Robotics is helping to shape Africa’s future by equipping young people with practical skills in design, engineering and problem-solving. It encourages creativity and innovation while showing students how technology can be used to tackle real challenges in their communities. By learning robotics, Africa’s youth are gaining the tools and confidence to build solutions, create opportunities and drive progress across the continent.
